On June 29, 2025, the inaugural session of “Choral Singing for Seniors”, organized by Easycan Media, was successfully held at City Café in the Markham Civic Centre. The event focused on four key pillars: scientific breathing, vocal training, movement exercises, and social interaction, creating a warm, interactive platform that combines health education, artistic expression, and emotional connection for seniors in the community.

Surrounded by greenery and a shimmering lake, the venue featured floor-to-ceiling windows that brought natural light and scenic views indoors, creating a peaceful and open atmosphere. Seniors gathered at sunlit round tables, sipping tea and chatting. Even before the event officially began, the room was already filled with warmth and connection.

Next, martial arts instructor Allcome Liu—father of Lawyer Yan—performed an elegant Baguazhang routine. His smooth, flowing movements embodied the philosophy of “health through movement” and “inner strength through stillness,” earning enthusiastic applause. He was joined on stage by his student Linda Liang for a duet performance.

Everyone relaxed their bodies and minds in the singing and laughter, and regained the long-lost vitality
In celebration of Canada Day, the organizers held a birthday ceremony for seniors born in July. Teacher Miaomiao and Lawyer Yan extended their warm wishes: “May you celebrate both your birthday and our country’s with joy, health, and peace.” A large birthday cake was shared among guests, followed by group photos to capture the meaningful moment.
The core session was led by Miaomiao, a certified instructor with the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM). She guided the audience through abdominal breathing exercises and basic vocal training. With clear explanations and a gentle approach, she helped participants improve lung function, voice control, and overall well-being. The room filled with singing, smiles, and revived energy.

Enjoy a light meal

During the social lunch that followed, the atmosphere remained vibrant. The event reached its joyful peak with a lucky draw, awarding winners tickets to the Royal Botanical Gardens.
