The 7th World Mahjong Championship Tournament 2024 will be held on October 11-15, 2024 in Toronto, Canada.
The World Mahjong Championship is the most authoritative, high-level Chinese Mahjong intellectual sports competition in the world organized by the World Mahjong Organization. The World Mahjong Organization was founded since 2005 in Beijing, China, by eight countries, the membership has grown to more than 40 countries and regions, and has successfully held six World Championships, respectively:

3rd: 2012, Qianjiang, Chongqing, China
4th: 2015, Jeju Island, South Korea

The 7th World Mahjong Championships is the first World Championships since the Covid Pandemic and the first time that the premier event, the World Mahjong Championships, will be held in North America. The member organizations of the World Mahjong Organization are gearing up to do well at the World Championships. They will be organizing various forms of selection and competition to promote a healthy, scientific and friendly mahjong culture, as well as an atmosphere of intellectual competition. The World Mahjong Organization hopes that the Canadian National Standard Mahjong Association will give full play to Canada’s unique advantages and resources, demonstrate our wisdom and organizational and coordinating abilities, and strive to make this tournament an arena of friendly exchanges and cooperation between countries and nations, and between folk and civil society. The Canadian National Standard Mahjong Association will definitely do our best to make this World Championship the most unique World Championship and Mahjong event. We will receive congratulatory letters from the three levels of Canadian heads of government and parliamentarians, who will jointly wish the 7th World Mahjong Championship a complete success.
This year’s tournament is organized by the World Mahjong Organization and co-sponsored by the Canadian National Standard Mahjong Association and various knowledgeable people. There will be discussions on mahjong rules, referee training, travel visits and other related cultural exchange activities.
