On September 20, 2025, from 7 to 9 p.m., Ottawa’s Algonquin Commons Theatre will host a dazzling night of cultural exchange. The Palette of Cultures Showcase unites performances from Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas — from the elegance of Chinese Yue Opera to the pulse of African drumming, the beauty of European harmonies, and the fire of American dance.
Led by Co-Chairs Honourable Victor Oh and Honourable Senator Yuen Pau Woo, the evening has earned strong support from embassies in Canada, with ambassadors from around ten nations joining distinguished guests from Canada’s political, business, and cultural communities. What began as an invitation to celebrated Chinese Yue Opera artists has sparked worldwide participation, bringing together art forms that embody diverse cultural heritages.
In Canada’s multicultural capital, this will be an evening where art transcends borders and cultures shine together — Celebrating Diversity, One Stroke at a Time.
