Due to its outstanding workplace, the City of Toronto has been recognised as one of Greater Toronto’s Top Employers for 2023. The City has received this honour nine times total.

The 17th annual Greater Toronto’s Top Employers competition, run by MediaCorp Canada Inc., honours companies with outstanding human resources initiatives and progressive workplace regulations. Eight criteria were used to evaluate employers: the physical workplace, work environment and social aspects, financial, health, and family benefits, vacation and paid time off, employee communications, performance management, education and skill-building opportunities, and involvement in the community.
