A recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Award, Susan Gong, CPA, CA, RCIC, is the president of Altec Global Inc., a leading immigration consultancy firm with offices across Canada. Gong is a former member of the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada (IRB), where she adjudicated complex refugee and immigration cases that continue to shape her advocacy for newcomers to Canada.
Gong holds an honours BBA from Wilfrid Laurier University and a chartered professional accountant (CPA, CA) designation, which qualified her for her previously held senior role at the Metro Toronto Housing Authority, before dedicating her career to immigration and global mobility. She is a regulated Canadian immigration consultant (RCIC), uniquely blending legal, financial and strategic insight to support entrepreneurs, families and professionals seeking a new life in Canada.
Gong donates a tremendous amount of her time to various charities. Her contributions including being a board director of Mackenzie Health Foundation, founding member of SickKids Hospital Foundation Chinese Cabinet, former chairperson of SEAS Foundation, as well as involvement with other organizations like the Heart and Stroke Foundation and Kidney Foundation of Canada. Since 2022, she is the Country President Canada of the Association of Business Women in Commerce and Industry (ABWCI).
Gong’s outstanding community service has earned her multiple awards, including the Chinese Women Pioneer Award and the Award from Society of Management Accountants.
Fluent in English and Mandarin, Gong is frequently sought after by the media as an expert on Canadian immigration issues and has an article published by the Globe and Mail. She has been featured and interviewed by CBC, CTV, Omni News, Sing Tao Daily, Ming Pao, World Journal and Fairchild TV. She regularly delivers talks on immigration policies, entrepreneurship and education in Canada, helping people around the world turn their Canadian dreams into reality.
Having immigrated to Canada more than 40 years ago, Gong lives in Toronto and has two sons. Gong continues to assist and mentor new immigrants to achieve their dreams in Canada.
