“Inheritance, starting from the sea” family activities day which was jointly held by Easy Canada and the Clean Ocean Foundation has officially came to an end at the King Square shopping mall. This event, which lasted for three days, attracted many local community residents to participate and received great response.
The event was also supported by the 6th Macao Festival organizers, Macao Club(Toronto) Inc. and D&H International who provided on-site booths for the event. Together, the idea of protecting the ocean was promoted to a larger platform.
It is well known that the ocean accounts for 71% of the Earth’s surface area and it is an important component of the Earth’s ecological system. From ancient times to present days, human civilization has spread through the sea as it plays the channel for the development of human civilization. However, human development in recent years has caused huge pollution to the ocean. The ocean has gradually become an old man who is strong outside but fragile inside. This family event day thus adhere to the concept of “inheritance, starting from the sea” and hopes to return the marine environment to its prime days. Protecting the ocean, protecting the inheritance, and protecting our home.
It is worth mentioning that this event is a combination between the family activities funded by the federal government and the public welfare activity which takes protecting the marine environment as theme. Although this is a brand new attempt, it has achieved great success. At the event site, the organizer integrated the concept of protecting the marine environment into the family activities, launched a marine environmental protection propaganda in a fun and educational way. As a result it completely changed the traditional propaganda method into a smart, game-style promotion.
The whole event lasted for three days. The organizers set up a series of exciting family fun activities dedicated to the people who came to participate in the event. In addition to the fun games, during the event, they also add the one of the most popular game link, prize wheel. While promoting the concept of marine environmental protection, we also sent free gifts to everyone and it pushed the atmosphere of the event to a climax.
Other than the brand new concept of combination, many volunteers from Toronto joined to this event answering the call of public service and environmental protection who provide great support. As usually, the planner covered the transportation fees for the eligible elder.
The theme of “Inheritance, Starting from the Sea” theme day officially came to an end on the afternoon of the 21st. After the event, the person in charge of the activity explained that “inheritance, starting from the sea” is just the initial activity. It is a great idea to combine family activities with the concept of marine protection, and also combine fun activities with public welfare, as this kind of integration can attract more people to join. The planner also thanked everyone who attended this event and their supports. At the end the organizers also said that family activities along with a series of other different public welfare will also be brought to the community on a regular basis this year and hopes everyone can keep looking forward to them.
