The press conference of Zhang Junlong’s second North American Heavyweight championship was successfully held at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Toronto on September 15. The press conference was planned and executed by the Canadian Multicultural Media Confederation. Nearly 50 Toronto media from Canadian multicultural media of all ethnic groups and nearly 100 guests attended the press conference, . The six-time defending champion of the former WBA Oceania champion and the WBU world heavyweight champion Zhang Junlong, will hold the second match in Toronto on October 15, 2022.
This match will be the second match for “Dragon King” Zhang Junlong in North America. The competition will take place on October 15th at 6:30pm at the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel (123 Queen St W, Toronto, ONM5H 2M9). At that time, Zhang Junlong will compete with German boxer Erdogan Kadrija for the WBC and IBC world championship belts. Kadriya is a strong experienced professional boxer, with a career record of 18 wins, 5 losses and 5 KO opponents.
Another highlight of this event is that Zhang Junlong’s boxing mentor and former heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield will be there in person! Holyfield is a legend in the professional boxing. He defeated top fighters like Tyson, Foreman, Sherlock Holmes in the 1980s and 1990s, and successfully defended his title several times. He is the undisputed world-class boxing champion. As Mr. Zhang Junlong’s mentor, he will also visit the site to guide the student and meet with Chinese fans who like him.
In 2012, Mr. Zhang Junlong entered the world professional boxing field as the first Chinese heavyweight amateur boxing champion transferred to professional, and in 2014 he officially apprenticed to the world legendary boxing champion Evander Holyfield. During Mr. Holyfield’s tenure as a head coach, Mr. Zhang Junlong won the WBU World Boxing Federation Heavyweight World Championship Belt, WBF World Boxing Federation Intercontinental Gold Belt and many other world boxing champion gold belts. In 2016, Mr. Zhang Junlong won and successfully defended the WBA Oceania heavyweight boxing gold belt, becoming the first Asian heavyweight champion in history to enter the top 15 of WBA World Boxing Association which is one of the world’s four major boxing organizations.
On May 14th this year, in the World Boxing Council (WBC) titled “CPBC International Heavyweight Gold Belt Competition”, Zhang Junlong fought for 10 rounds and won the opponent, WBC professional boxer Mexican heavyweight champion Guillermo Casas, and finally won the CPBC International Heavyweight Gold Belt.
