Chrystia Freeland, who is Canada’s Deputy Prime Minister, other than stating that Canada’s elections were free and fair, no significant answer was given. Furthermore, none of them claimed knowing that any candidates were receiving funding from China.
Due to the fact that he only learnt of this specific allegation from the media, Trudeau claimed he is unaware of who has been named.
the Conservatives received major support from the Liberals at a House of Commons committee when trying to expand an ongoing study of foreign interference, which included the news report that the Chinese government’s plans to “actively influence the 2019 election” were disclosed to Trudeau and other officials.
“I have asked the officials to examine these media reports and give all possible answers,” Trudeau said Sunday. “Everything they can, to the parliamentary committee that’s looking into this.”
